What a great idea - sounds like a plan. I do the money thing a little differently. I write a check to a tax free money market fund on the first of every month. I let that money accumulate and use it for an emergency when I need to - and I usually need to. However, if I don’t need to I just let it build up. Seems as though the bigger the account becomes, the more I want to put into it and the bigger my dreams become but - - - I HATE taking money from this account. It’s my cushion and it’s getting bigger every day.

Just got myself a Fitbit. Same concept only ridiculously hi-tech. Tracking my food and my activity. I expect your system will work just as well, but I have charts and stats! :D

FYI - you might want to check out “Earthships” - in Taos, NM - I think you will find them interesting. I’ve been in a few and they have thought of almost everything. Off the grid, self sustaining living that would blow your mind. Old tires, soda cans, bottles, broken glass etc. You name it and they’ve used it. There are 450 of these places in Taos all out in the desert in their own community. Fun to see. Actually, it’s just north west of Taos by about 20 minutes.
